Newsletter for Teachers – February 2026
A Word from the President
January 27 marked the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp. The evidence of Nazi barbarity is irrefutable, and research continues to make progress. Although the Nazis did everything they could to erase the evidence of their crimes, new technologies have already made it possible to identify more than 5 million victims.
Yet, despite this enrichment of documentation, we are faced with an alarming paradox. Antisemitism and the distortion of the Shoah continue to grow, particularly in the digital space, where nearly 50% of French-language content mentioning this event is marked by hatred or historical falsification.
Faced with this situation, education remains the strongest bulwark against forgetting and disinformation.
May this new year give us all the courage and determination to continue this invaluable mission.
