A new 2 years project has been launched to combat antisemitism in Europe through education on the 4th of April 2023.
This new project will include thematics webinars and training events for teachers and educators from all EU member states. The aim is to support teachers to counter conspiracy theories and antisemitism in classrooms. Further information will be soon available. For the moment, Unesco and its partners are working with national authorities of EU Member States to assist them as they develop the educational dimension of their National Plans on Combating Antisemitism.
11 countries have already confirmed they will participate : France, Germany, Greece, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Croatia and Czech Republic.
This project will be financed par Eramus + program and implemented by UNESCO and the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for security and co-operation in Europe (OSCE). The project supports educational recommendations of the first-ever EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life adopted on 5 October 2021.
