Victoria SABAN
This video is the culmination of our research into Victoria Saban and her mother, Perla, who were deported on Convoy 77, which left Drancy camp for Auschwitz on July 31, 1944. As the Germans were on the verge of defeat, the convoy was filled at the very last minute, and in great haste.
We were struck by this fanatical determination to annihilate the Jews, so took part in the Convoy 77 project in order not only to understand the forces at work but also to give a face and a story to real people who the Nazis, with their deadly ideology, sought to eradicate from the human race.
Our sources were the various archives made available by the Convoy 77 non-profit organization as well as the archives of the Shoah Memorial in Drancy.
We would like to thank Jean-Marc Assayag, a retired teacher, who supported us on this journey.
